Impact of Donors: $23,500 Scholarship Awards

In a Community Foundation, our capacity to make grant awards is tied to the annual earnings of our charitable investments. Looking back at the economic market volatilities of the last year, grantmaking seemed impractical.

Clearly, our philanthropic-minded donors felt otherwise.

Driven solely by the impact of our donors, the Foundation delivered $23,500 in scholarship aid to college-bound students for the 2009-2010 academic year. Twenty-one students and their families will benefit from the generosity of our donors, easing the burden of high tuition costs, books, and fees. We wish all our area graduates the best in their future endeavors.
