Jeffers Nature Preserve Hosts Volunteer Forum
6:30-7:30pm, Thursday, July 21 @ Old Town Hall

All local nature enthusiasts, educators, youth leaders, gardeners, and history buffs are invited to attend the event, which is free to the public.

Huntingburg, July 12, 2011: The Jeffers Nature Preserve Steering Committee, in conjunction with The Huntingburg Foundation, will hold a Volunteer Information Forum on Thursday, July 21 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Huntingburg Old Town Hall, 309 N. Geiger St.

Forum participants will find out about the specific opportunities for volunteer service at the Jeffers Nature Preserve in keeping with the Preserve’s newly completed Natural Resource Management Plan. Light refreshments will also be served.

A follow-up Field Orientation will also take place on Saturday, July 23 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the property to acquaint volunteers with the Preserve itself.

A 30-acre wooded property located west of Huntingburg Lake, the Jeffers Nature Preserve is maintained by the Huntingburg Foundation and has been set aside for the purposes of nature preservation, nature education, watershed protection, and historical preservation.
