Qualified non-for-profit organizations (charities, churches, school, and government agencies) that provide support or services to the less fortunate of Huntingburg, Indiana may submit a request for a grant award from the Huntingburg Assistance Fund. Grant requests must be a minimum of $100 to a maximum request of $3,000.
Each year, the Huntingburg Mayor’s office facilitates a program called the Huntingburg Assistance Fund, which is a collection of community gifts distributed to charities helping the less fortunate in Huntingburg.
The Assistance Fund provides charities with a grant to provide the needy with a variety of services, including holiday gifts for children, meals for the hungry, aid to our homebound seniors, utilities for the winter, doctor visits for needy school children, and a variety of other basic needs.
Individuals are not eligible to receive direct support. Individuals who qualify for assistance are encouraged to visit local agencies or by phoning 2-1-1 to learn of available human services in our area.
Requests for funding shall be limited to non-for-profit charitable agencies that support the less fortunate and registered as a 501c3 non-for-profit with the internal revenue service.
Non-for-profits who wish to request funding should submit a one-page letter on their organization’s letterhead and include the following information: EIN or tax-ID number, one paragraph describing the mission or purpose of your organization, and two to three paragraphs that includes the amount being requested ($100 minimum, $3,000 maximum) and plans to utilize those funds for the less fortunate of Huntingburg during the holidays.
