2010 Endowments Continue to GrowLocal causes & charities receive benefits of perpetual gifts
Since the start of the new year, the Foundation has assisted several families, individuals, and charitable organizations establish their own charitable endowments.
Connecting with causes that are important to them, endowments are a significant investment in the future of our community. Consider a gift to help any of these new funds grow. Families and agencies of each fund will be notified of your generosity.
Huntingburg United Methodist Church Endowment
An advised agency fund to provide support for Huntingburg United Methodist Church, to further the charitable mission of the church.
Fred Souders & Lee Ray Olinger Aviation Scholarship
A scholarship fund in memory/honor of Lee Ray Olinger to support a graduate of Southwest Dubois County School Corporation pursuing a post-secondary education in any career related to the field of aviation, including aeronautics, engineering, controller, mechanics, pilot, etc.
Teen Outback Youth Center Endowment
An advised agency fund established by Huntingburg Teen Age Canteen, Inc. to provide support for the improvement of programs, activities, and the facility of the Teen Outback Youth Center in Huntingburg.
Friends of Raider Field Endowment
An advised fund established by Friends of Raider Field to provide funds for the replacement cost of the Raider football field and to help with other field improvements.
Southridge Lettermen's Club Athletic Endowment
A designated fund established by the Southridge Lettermen's Club to provide support to the Southridge High School Athletic Department. This perpetuates the support provided by the Lettermen's Club to various athletic programs.
Color My World Preschool Tuition Endowment
A designated fund established by Connie Evans through an estate gift will provide support to Huntingburg United Methodist Church in aid of qualified underprivileged families with tuition costs wishing to attend Color My World Preschool.
Maurice C. Woods Memorial Endowment
A donor-advised fund established by the generosity of friends and family. Maurice passed on the first of April, 2010. In his memory, the fund is intended to support the Holland community.
Lynne Weber-Messmer Memorial Endowment
A donor-advised fund established by the generosity of friends and family. Lynne passed on the twentieth of March, 2010. In her memory, the fund is intended to support the local community and Raider athletics.
Fourth Street Charitable Endowment
An advised fund established by the Huntingburg Downtown Merchants Association in an effort to preserve, improve, and enhance the historic Fourth Street and surrounding downtown area of Huntingburg for the public benefit. Beautification projects, such as the repotting of street planters each spring and fall, will be maintained by this fund.
Huntingburg Assistance Fund Endowment
An advised fund established by the City of Huntingburg, Mayor’s Office, to perpetually build resources for needy families that will distribute grants throughout the year to supplement the holiday giving campaign in the future.
Dubois County Leukemia Association Pediatrics Endowment
A designated fund established by the Leukemia Assoc. to benefit Memorial Hospital’s Pediatric Unit to enhance the patient-care experience for children and their families, especially those coping with major illnesses or with extended visits in the pediatrics unit of our local hospital.
Mary Lee Schurz Healthcare Scholarship Endowment
A scholarship fund established by Jerry & Patty Schurz in memory of Mary Lee Schurz acknowledging her contribution to the community when she recognized the need to organize one of the first nursing care facilities in Dubois County. The scholarship supports a Southridge High School graduate pursuing a course of study which will culminate in a degree in the healthcare field
Matrix Lifeline of Dubois County Endowment
An agency fund to provide support for the organization, Matrix Lifeline, in its mission to offer services directly to women experiencing stress pregnancies. Services include counseling, social services support, and maternity and infant supplies.
